The Office of Information Technology at the Southern Regional Education Board seeks to hire a Full-time Co-Op Georgia Tech student (hybrid) in the mid-town Atlanta Headquarters starting in the Summer 2025 semester. As a co-op student in this role, you’ll gain relevant work experience and practical experience in IT support.  You will apply institutional knowledge and enhance your problem-solving skills, people skills and verbal and written skills. Following the Georgia Tech recommended program schedule, this Co-Op requires a commitment of three semesters alternating with academic semesters and starting in the Summer 2025 semester.

The Full-time Co-Op student in the Office of Information Technology will be expected to complete the following work during the course of the Co-op:
  • Microsoft Azure Deployment: Organize and migrate folders from on-premises file shares to the Cloud.
  • Azure Cloud-based Operations: Create Document Libraries, Teams File Sections, Adjust Permissions, monitor security, and perform mitigation operations to thwart cyber threats.
  • SharePoint Design: Create a new and modern Site Collection and move content from the legacy Intranet to the new SharePoint Intranet. Create new content.
  • Cloud systems integration: Use Microsoft Power Platform and SharePoint for business process improvement projects
  • Staff Training for new hires: Create new content and incorporate existing content to facilitate sharing required technical information for all SREB staff. Design and suggest process improvements.
  • Front-line Information Technology and Helpdesk Operations: providing information, assistance, training and technical support to staff in regard to the use of computers, networks, and related peripheral hardware and software.


What does it take to be a full-time Co-Op student in the Office of Information Technology?

Must be enrolled in a Georgia Tech’s Bachelor’s degree program of study in computer science, information systems or a related field. Students must have 30 or more completed credits in the course of study.

Candidates must have reliable transportation and be able to commit to serving the full duration of the Co-Op, which is expected to include Summer 2025, Winter 2025 and Summer 2026 semesters as per the Georgia Tech Co-Op program schedule.

Required Knowledge and Skills
  • Programming experience or an entry-level programming course.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Basic understanding of local area networks.
  • Working knowledge of computers and related peripheral equipment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Using initiative and independent judgment within established procedural guidelines.
