About SREB

The Southern Regional Education Board is a nonpartisan, interstate compact that helps its member states improve education from early childhood through doctoral education and into the workforce. For nearly 80 years, SREB has supported state leaders, educators, and policymakers with reliable data, research, and practical guidance. Our staff are known for their professionalism, attention to detail, and steady follow-through — qualities this role embodies every day.

The Opportunity

SREB is looking for an experienced, highly organized Executive Assistant to provide dedicated administrative support to three senior leaders: a Senior Vice President and two Vice Presidents.

This is a role for someone who has found their calling as an executive assistant — who takes genuine pride in running a tight calendar, anticipating needs before they're voiced, and being the person everyone can count on to keep things moving. You'll be the steady hand behind the scenes for three busy executives, coordinating schedules, travel, meetings, and division operations so they can focus on their work with confidence that the details are handled.

If you're the kind of person who color-codes your inbox, double-checks every reservation, and genuinely enjoys the craft of administrative support, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Do

  • Manage calendars and scheduling for three senior leaders, juggling competing priorities with patience and precision.
  • Coordinate travel, from booking to reimbursement documentation, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.
  • Organize meetings, from logistics and agendas to materials and follow-up.
  • Keep division operations running smoothly, including recurring meetings, shared calendars, and reimbursement processing for outside partners and consultants.
  • Handle procurement and office logistics, including business cards, name badges, and office supplies.
  • Serve as a welcoming first point of contact, providing backup support for visitors and front-office needs.

What We're Looking For

We're hiring for fit as much as skill. The ideal candidate:
  • Is detail-oriented almost to a fault — typos, scheduling conflicts, and missing paperwork don't get past you.
  • Can juggle multiple priorities for three different leaders without dropping the ball or losing their cool.
  • Is naturally organized, with systems and habits that keep work on track even when things get busy.
  • Sees executive support as a career, not a stepping stone — you find real satisfaction in this work and want to grow as an EA, not move into a different track.
  • Communicates clearly and professionally, in writing and in person.
  • Is comfortable with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, and Zoom.

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in business administration or a related field preferred.
  • Three or more years of administrative support experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple calendars and competing demands.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting more than one executive at a time.
  • Background in nonprofit, education, or mission-driven organizations.

Why SREB

  • Stable, mission-driven organization with nearly 80 years of impact across the South.
  • A genuine opportunity to be the backbone of three offices — your work will be visible, valued, and essential.
  • Collegial team environment where reliability and craftsmanship are recognized and respected.
